An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex de Rudder in the 7th minute of play forced Revenge's goalkeeper Aleksandr Vasyutin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Winthont FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kees Koole came free, but Dennis Beerthuis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Berend Hermensen succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 13th playminute. The supporters of Revenge booed when Winthont FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Delmiro Otoniel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute Alex de Rudder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aleksandr Vasyutin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dennis Beerthuis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kees Koole in the 33rd minute of play. When Alex de Rudder came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Winthont FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex de Rudder couldn't finish the play. The throw-in from Archie Sangil in the 39th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Winthont FC's Jan Tevreden. Aleksandr Vasyutin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex de Rudder in the 39th minute of the match. When Kees Koole came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Revenge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kees Koole couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After a rather tough play, Winthont FC's Marnix Mastebroek got a free kick in the 51st minute. Dennis Beerthuis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filippo Inzaghi, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Jacobus Lubbers ran back to his position shaking his head. Jacobus Lubbers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Aleksandr Vasyutin made a huge save. Henk-Jan Linders was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 96 minutes into the match. Aleksandr Vasyutin had in the 97thth minute some difficulties stopping Werner Hoving's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 97th minute, Werner Hoving left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Winthont FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
