In the 5th minute Manfred Konradsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Oldenborger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute Domenik Hoffhuis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lin Hong Song saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfred Konradsson in the 12th minute of play forced MK Investments's goalkeeper Peter Oldenborger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Oldenborger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Bergkamp in the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Manfred Konradsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lemel SV fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 22nd minute Manfred Konradsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Oldenborger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by MK Investments's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Claudio Caniggia was slow to take the kick. During this time Lemel SV's players had a chance to rest. Peter Oldenborger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfred Konradsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. MK Investments's Peter Oldenborger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfred Konradsson in the 41st minute of play. After the first half Lemel SV were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manfred Konradsson was the one to do the kick off. Dennis Bergkamp in the 51stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Peter Oldenborger, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A nice corner shot did that Claudio Caniggia got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Peter Oldenborger quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Lin Hong Song showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domenik Hoffhuis, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfred Konradsson in the 56th minute of play forced MK Investments's goalkeeper Peter Oldenborger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the match, MK Investments's goal looked a bit too open when Manfred Konradsson came free, but Peter Oldenborger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manfred Konradsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter Oldenborger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Jimmie Cai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lin Hong Song having to interfere. In the 74th match minute, MK Investments was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilfried Wiersma to maneuver through the defense. Peter Oldenborger didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dennis Bergkamp went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennis Bergkamp in the 78th minute of play forced MK Investments's goalkeeper Peter Oldenborger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Dennis Bergkamp sped through MK Investments's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Peter Oldenborger. Dennis Bergkamp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Peter Oldenborger made a huge save. MK Investments's Peter Oldenborger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Bergkamp in the 88th minute of play. The Lemel SV supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lemel SV would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
