Potentia's Tiaguinho de Sousa managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Abraham Windmuller in the 8 minute of the game. Dukaton f.c.'s Foeke Wisgerhof played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristján Kipper in the 9th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristján Kipper in the 14th minute of play forced Dukaton f.c.'s goalkeeper Foeke Wisgerhof to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 14 played minutes Dukaton f.c. got a freekick which was hit by Ciriaco Cordera. After 15 minutes of play, S.C. Potentia's Kristján Kipper made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Foeke Wisgerhof was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of Dukaton f.c.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of S.C. Potentia:s goal. Foeke Wisgerhof showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristján Kipper, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Tiaguinho de Sousa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Foeke Wisgerhof read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, S.C. Potentia's Kristján Kipper sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Foeke Wisgerhof narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tiaguinho de Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristján Kipper in the 46th minute of play forced Dukaton f.c.'s goalkeeper Foeke Wisgerhof to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jochem Rijkaard was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Dukaton f.c.'s Jochem Rijkaard sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mathijs Tevreden narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mathijs Tevreden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lukas Blaauwgeers in the 55th minute of play. After 64 played minutes Dukaton f.c. got a freekick which was hit by Ercole Fiori. Foeke Wisgerhof made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kristján Kipper in the 67th minute. 70 minutes into the match, S.C. Potentia's Kristján Kipper sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Foeke Wisgerhof narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mathijs Tevreden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steve Hilhorst in the 72nd minute of play. Foeke Wisgerhof made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Kristján Kipper sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristján Kipper in the 80th minute of play forced Dukaton f.c.'s goalkeeper Foeke Wisgerhof to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, S.C. Potentia's Kristján Kipper sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Foeke Wisgerhof narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lukas Blaauwgeers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathijs Tevreden having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, S.C. Potentia's goal looked a bit too open when Lukas Blaauwgeers came free, but Mathijs Tevreden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Dukaton f.c.'s zone, Kristján Kipper stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Foeke Wisgerhof came out of the goal and Kristján Kipper tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The S.C. Potentia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing S.C. Potentia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
