The audience thought a goal was coming when Hector Pello got free with Herbert Hilhorst in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Oliver Pieters hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute Verwachting were awarded a corner. Adriaan Kuypers went to the cornerflag to take it. Leiden Spor Kulubu's 石渊文 got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oliver Pieters's late challenge caught a Verwachting's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oliver Pieters helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Verwachting booed when Leiden Spor Kulubu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver Pieters didn't get a good kick on the ball. 24 minutes into the game, Pierre Vrieze was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leiden Spor Kulubu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Verwachting the free kick. After a rather tough play, Verwachting's Huib Staarman got a free kick in the 27th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Verwachting's goalkeeper Herbert Hilhorst had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by 石渊文. Pierre Vrieze made a great header on Leiden Spor Kulubu's corner, it was just that Verwachting's Herbert Hilhorst managed to reach the ball for a save. Harry Mik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Twan Hesseling in the 32nd minute of play. Billy Châtelet kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Herbert Hilhorst didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hector Pello went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Leiden Spor Kulubu defense, Twan Hesseling kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Harry Mik. The Leiden Spor Kulubu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Harry Mik should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Twan Hesseling in the 47th minute of play forced Leiden Spor Kulubu's goalkeeper Harry Mik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Twan Hesseling made a kick off. Harry Mik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Twan Hesseling in the 51st minute of the match. Harry Mik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Twan Hesseling in the 61st minute of play. In the 64th minute, 石渊文 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harry Mik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Twan Hesseling, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. When Hans Deitmers fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verwachting's protests and gave Hans Deitmers a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Verwachting getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Hans Deitmers hit a great ball. In the 70th minute, Leiden Spor Kulubu's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ruud Geels fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Iwan van Heiningen lost his temper 74 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Leiden Spor Kulubu:s Harry Mik showed great skill when he stopped Adriaan Kuypers:s penalty. Harry Mik made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Twan Hesseling sent off a good shot on target. If Christijan Schreuder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Verwachting were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Leiden Spor Kulubu's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adriaan Kuypers took the corner. Herbert Hilhorst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 石渊文, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 94thth minute of the game Twan Hesseling who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leiden Spor Kulubu's Harry Mik was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Verwachting had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
