The audience was convinced that Twan Hesseling's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jaap van der Schans was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Westenenk's Jaap van der Schans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Twan Hesseling in the 8th minute of play. In the 24th minute Twan Hesseling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaap van der Schans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Westenenk's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Adriaan Kuypers was slow to take the kick. During this time Verwachting's players had a chance to rest. Jaap van der Schans came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Verwachting's Twan Hesseling. But to his dismay, Twan Hesseling quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Peder Nyqvist during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 60th match minute, Westenenk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peder Nyqvist to maneuver through the defense. Jaap van der Schans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Twan Hesseling in the 61st minute of the match. Gervasio Lauaxeta charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After having played for 63 minutes, Twan Hesseling managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Verwachting's supporters crossed their fingers, but Twan Hesseling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Westenenk's Jaap van der Schans got control of the ball when Twan Hesseling tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 80th minute, Twan Hesseling made a precise shot to the right of Jaap van der Schans. Westenenk's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Peder Nyqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Westenenk's goal looked a bit too open when Adriaan Kuypers came free, but Jaap van der Schans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Twan Hesselings short, quick shot in the 87thth minute got Jaap van der Schans to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 89 minutes into the match, Westenenk's goalkeeper Jaap van der Schans had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christijan Schreuder. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christijan Schreuder got free with Jaap van der Schans in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Twan Hesseling put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Jaap van der Schans. Jaap van der Schans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Twan Hesseling, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. In the 96th minute of the match Verwachting got a corner. Westenenk's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adriaan Kuypers ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Verwachting's Adriaan Kuypers to fire away a dangerous shot which Jaap van der Schans despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The Westenenk supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Verwachting's performance. The match ended with a win for Verwachting.
