Wilson Freire received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ismael de Carvalho came out and tried to block the shot, but Wilson Freire slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. Taquaral Campineiro's Gustavo Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Otávio Sanches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafinha Gonçalves in the 10th minute of play. Taquaral Campineiro's Valdomiro Domingues got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19th minute Rafinha Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otávio Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of S.E. Cachoeirinha booed when Taquaral Campineiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdomiro Domingues didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabinho Vinhas might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Otávio Sanches. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabinho Vinhas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 21stth minute of the game Reginaldo Teixeira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Taquaral Campineiro's Otávio Sanches was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Fabinho Vinhas notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Taquaral Campineiro's Otávio Sanches. Otávio Sanches was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reginaldo Teixeira in the 37th minute of play forced Taquaral Campineiro's goalkeeper Otávio Sanches to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otávio Sanches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nando Moreno in the 40th minute of play. After 47 played minutes Taquaral Campineiro got a freekick which was hit by Giovanni Valle. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdomiro Domingues stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lauro Moura's shot from long distance in the 69th minute was not bad at all, but Taquaral Campineiro's Otávio Sanches knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Ismael de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilson Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 72nd minute, Bruno Gomes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafinha Gonçalves got free with Otávio Sanches in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 75th minute, S.E. Cachoeirinha's Reginaldo Teixeira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Otávio Sanches. Otávio Sanches yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. 80 minutes into the match, Taquaral Campineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Reginaldo Teixeira came free, but Otávio Sanches reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute, one of Taquaral Campineiro:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Taquaral Campineiro. When the match had been going on for 89 minutes, S.E. Cachoeirinha's Lauro Moura got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Otávio Sanches. In the 95th minute, S.E. Cachoeirinha's Rafinha Gonçalves dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. In the 98th minute, João Carlos Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdomiro Domingues in the 100th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ismael de Carvalho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. S.E. Cachoeirinha had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
