If Gervaso Abenda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, César Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amadeu Lamego came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Matanza and Steelers's Gervaso Abenda. But to his dismay, Gervaso Abenda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gervaso Abenda got free with Amadeu Lamego in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

After a defensive mix-up in Matanza and Steelers's zone, Murillo Catarinense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renan Mendes came out of the goal and Murillo Catarinense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60th minute Leysus Oktavianus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Lamego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute Matanza and Steelers were awarded a corner. Jimmy Örtendal went to the cornerflag to take it. After a rather tough play, SAO JOANENSE FC's Elias Veloso got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind SAO JOANENSE FC's goalkeeper Amadeu Lamego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Amadeu Lamego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jimmy Örtendal's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Matanza and Steelers were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after SAO JOANENSE FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jimmy Örtendal took the corner. Amadeu Lamego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimmy Örtendal, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Matanza and Steelers fans cheered their team off the field, for while SAO JOANENSE FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
