Villaverde Celeste Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roy Makaay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roy Makaay to make the kick off. A throw-in in the 75th minute of the game was made by Dito Tasso with José Paulo Mello as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 76 minutes into the match, Claudinei Pirani notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Villaverde Celeste Clube's Nenko Reza. Nenko Reza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pedro Augusto Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match.
