Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tarcisio Chaves in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tales Brito prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 10thth minute of the game Tarcisio Chaves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Castanheiro SC's Tales Brito was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fernando Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Buffon having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Toscano in the 16th minute of play forced AVAÍ F.C.'s goalkeeper Marcos Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robben Spoelberchs in the 19th minute of play. Marcos Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robben Spoelberchs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Castanheiro SC's Tales Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Alegría in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robben Spoelberchs in the 28th minute of play forced AVAÍ F.C.'s goalkeeper Marcos Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robben Spoelberchs to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Tarcisio Chaves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AVAÍ F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0.
