During the 24th minute of the match Remo da Rocha completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Remo da Rocha a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Š¢σяpiσиŠ made a substitution. Dieguinho Araújo replaced Amedeo Faccio. Léo de Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Meriç Nurkan in the 52nd minute of play. Douglas de Souza might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emílio Cordeiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. After having played for 77 minutes, Meriç Nurkan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Š¢σяpiσиŠ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Meriç Nurkan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Š¢σяpiσиŠ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
