Alessandro Linares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Van Nistelrooy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alessandro Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Van Nistelrooy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caldebrazza were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after Deportivo Craques fc's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hubertas Dabkevičius took the corner. The corner led Caldebrazza's Hubertas Dabkevičius to fire away a dangerous shot which Giuseppe Silveira despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Anísio Neiva kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Van Nistelrooy took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alessandro Linares. Alessandro Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Van Nistelrooy, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 45th minute, Deportivo Craques fc's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Hubertas Dabkevičius fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The Caldebrazza manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Deportivo Craques fc to win.
