The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had been going on for 9 minutes, Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's Amadeu do Nascimento got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Édouard Mendy. Flamengo CIMZ's Édouard Mendy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gernando Azevedo in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Azevedo in the 17th minute of play forced Flamengo CIMZ's goalkeeper Édouard Mendy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's Gernando Azevedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Édouard Mendy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gernando Azevedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Édouard Mendy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gernando Azevedo ran back to his position shaking his head. With an all-out effort, Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's Édouard Mendy threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gernando Azevedo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gernando Azevedo scored 3-0 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Édouard Mendy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Niceto Frichoso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Édouard Mendy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gernando Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Flamengo CIMZ's zone, Gustavo Scarpa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Édouard Mendy came out of the goal and Gustavo Scarpa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Carlos Lucas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niceto Frichoso in the 58th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Azevedo in the 65th minute of play forced Flamengo CIMZ's goalkeeper Édouard Mendy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Édouard Mendy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gernando Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. The throw-in from Alexandre Loyola in the 69th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's Carlos-Henrique Casemiro. Gernando Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Édouard Mendy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Édouard Mendy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gernando Azevedo in the 72nd minute of play. If Niceto Frichoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Los Andes FC - FSCMZ made a substitution. Andrey Tzanichev replaced Fortunato Froněk. The audience was convinced that Niceto Frichoso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Carlos Lucas was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Arjen Robben ran over to the corner to take the kick. Arjen Robben made a great header on Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's corner, it was just that Flamengo CIMZ's Édouard Mendy managed to reach the ball for a save. Flamengo CIMZ's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
