The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8th minute Amos Maietta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Porto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Fúria Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Durvalino Cavalcante came free, but Júlio Porto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Durvalino Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapema's supporters rose to their feet, but Durvalino Cavalcante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Júlio Porto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Fúria Futebol Clube's zone, Amos Maietta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Porto came out of the goal and Amos Maietta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Durvalino Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute Amos Maietta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Porto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Itapema getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Alex Félix hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, Sebastião Nascimento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Júlio Porto. Fúria Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sebastião Nascimento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Júlio Porto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Durvalino Cavalcante, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After 33rd play minutes Sebastião Nascimento shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Júlio Porto and just under the crossbar into goal. If Sebastião Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júlio Porto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastião Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 42nd minute, Alex Félix ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Júlio Porto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristian Pernambucano was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Itapema booed when Fúria Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hortêncio Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Júlio Porto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amos Maietta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Durvalino Cavalcante who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Júlio Porto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, Fúria Futebol Clube's Júlio Porto got control of the ball when Durvalino Cavalcante tried to sneak it across the goal line. A hard shot 58 in the game by Durvalino Cavalcante from a close distance when the talented Júlio Porto managed to make a qualified save. Fúria Futebol Clube's players were relieved. In the 60th minute Sebastião Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Porto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amos Maietta in the 61st minute of play forced Fúria Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Júlio Porto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fúria Futebol Clube's Júlio Porto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Fúria Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Itapema reached it. Enrique Loureiro kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Vitório Massa came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Fúria Futebol Clube's Sílvio Cruz. But to his dismay, Sílvio Cruz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. A collision led to Fúria Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Sílvio Cruz hit a great ball. Júlio Porto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastião Nascimento in the 79th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Fúria Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Júlio Porto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Durvalino Cavalcante. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastião Nascimento in the 82nd minute of play forced Fúria Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Júlio Porto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Durvalino Cavalcante had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Júlio Porto.
