In the 10th minute, Murillo Cordeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 12 minutes into the match, São Paulo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Marcello Lewandowski came free, but Tiago Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Tribos's Pedrinho Figueiredo got a free kick in the 14th minute. Tribos's Adélio Pinhal quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Murillo Cordeiro, made in the 16th minute of the game. In the 16th match minute, São Paulo F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorian Quadros to maneuver through the defense. Tiago Godoi acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 17th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Iwo Kalak. Tiago Godoi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristiano Faria in the 20th minute. Edvin van der Saar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wanderson Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes into the match, Tribos's goal looked a bit too open when Wanderson Melo came free, but Edvin van der Saar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wanderson Melo in the 29th minute of play forced Tribos's goalkeeper Edvin van der Saar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edvin van der Saar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yaya Sow in the 30th minute of play. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Tribos's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Celso Gerber was slow to take the kick. During this time São Paulo F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. Jaroslaw Winograd kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Tribos's Edvin van der Saar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yaya Sow in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Jaroslaw Winograd hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcello Lewandowski was the one to do the kick off. São Paulo F.C.'s Marco Llorienzo got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wanderson Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Wanderson Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot. São Paulo F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Wanderson Melo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edvin van der Saar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 59thth minute of the game Marcello Lewandowski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but São Paulo F.C.'s Tiago Godoi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 63 minutes into the match, São Paulo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Marcello Lewandowski came free, but Tiago Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Tribos booed when São Paulo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dirk Snabl didn't get a good kick on the ball. But to his dismay, Wanderson Melo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 90 minutes into the match, Tribos's goal looked a bit too open when Yaya Sow came free, but Edvin van der Saar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Marcello Lewandowski came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Tribos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcello Lewandowski couldn't finish the play.
