In the 5th minute of the match Leon Sport Club got a corner. Cambridge Esporte Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jon Loarte ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Leon Sport Club's corner Jon Loarte fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sérgio Trevisan quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, Cambridge Esporte Clube's Sérgio Trevisan got control of the ball when Valdo Prado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sérgio Trevisan made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Valdo Prado sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Cambridge Esporte Clube's Dino de Salles got a free kick in the 9th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Cambridge Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Jon Loarte came free, but Sérgio Trevisan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11thth minute of the game Jon Loarte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cambridge Esporte Clube's Sérgio Trevisan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jon Loarte had several of the Cambridge Esporte Clube's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 12 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Sérgio Trevisan as he didn't even see the shot coming. A collision led to Cambridge Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Zé Carlos Machado hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Leon Sport Club's Jon Loarte sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sérgio Trevisan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Jon Loarte took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Sérgio Trevisan to make any attempt to save it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jon Loarte in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sérgio Trevisan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Elivélton Aparecido scored 2-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Clóvis Reis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Leon Sport Club were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after Cambridge Esporte Clube's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jon Loarte took the corner. In the 31st minute Jon Loarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Trevisan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Jon Loarte dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sérgio Trevisan, 3-1. Sérgio Trevisan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Giovanni Massa went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Leon Sport Club's Giovanni Massa got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sérgio Trevisan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jon Loarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute, Leon Sport Club's Jon Loarte dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Zé Carlos Machado made the kick off in the second half. Clóvis Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes into the game, Luiz Pinho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Clóvis Reis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cambridge Esporte Clube's Sérgio Trevisan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oswaldo Talavera in the 56th minute of play. Jon Loarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sérgio Trevisan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovanni Massa in the 70th minute of play. In the 73rd minute Valdo Prado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Trevisan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leon Sport Club's Jon Loarte got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cambridge Esporte Clube's Sérgio Trevisan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jon Loarte in the 81st minute of play. Sérgio Trevisan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jon Loarte in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th minute, Ingvar Kollberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Carlos Machado in the 91st minute of play forced Leon Sport Club's goalkeeper Clóvis Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Leon Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Kléber Rodrigues came free, but Clóvis Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 95 minutes of play, Leon Sport Club's Davi Alexandridis made it 6-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sérgio Trevisan was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Leon Sport Club fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cambridge Esporte Clube had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
