With an all-out effort, Clube Atlético Paulista's Fabiano Neto threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rickard Ödman, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marquinhos Pena in the 47th minute of play forced Ⲙσсσсɑ Βᴜꓲꓲร's goalkeeper Fabiano Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 51st minute, Rickard Ödman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabiano Neto was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
