Gustavo Vides made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabinho dos Santos in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ponta da Praia FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Agnaldo Mattos was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Athletico Paulistano's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Club Athletico Paulistano's corner Agnaldo Mattos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gustavo Vides quite easily take care of the ball. Acácio Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. When the match was over Club Athletico Paulistano could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ponta da Praia FC throughout the match.
