Ponta da Praia FC's Carlos Meira was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 6th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. With a little luck, União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez got control of the ball when Manoel Zanette tried to sneak it across the goal line. Valdir Pérez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 17th minute, Carlos Meira fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. União Verde FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Carlos Meira scored to the left of an out of position Valdir Pérez, making the score, 2-0. 22 minutes into the match, União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manoel Zanette. Valdir Pérez made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Hermínio Gerber sent off a good shot on target. União Verde FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Carlos Meira scored to the left of an out of position Valdir Pérez, making the score, 3-0. In the 30th minute of the match, Manoel Zanette got a very nice opportunity to score, but Valdir Pérez was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of União Verde FC booed when Ponta da Praia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manoel Zanette didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilvan Pombal's late challenge caught a Ponta da Praia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilvan Pombal helped the player get up and apologised. Valdir Pérez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Valdir Pérez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlos Meira went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. When Ponta da Praia FC's Carlos Meira in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye União Verde FC's goalie prevented a goal. Manoel Zanette could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Valdir Pérez made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Meira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valdir Pérez came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ponta da Praia FC's Manoel Zanette. But to his dismay, Manoel Zanette quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. The Ponta da Praia FC fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Ponta da Praia FC's Carlos Meira looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 61 minutes, Vinícius Lago mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the União Verde FC and the Ponta da Praia FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to União Verde FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Vinícius Lago hit a great ball. Valdir Pérez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Meira in the 64th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, Ponta da Praia FC's Hermínio Gerber sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valdir Pérez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 71 minutes into the game, Manoel Zanette was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ponta da Praia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave União Verde FC the free kick. Manoel Zanette hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After 73 played minutes União Verde FC got a freekick which was hit by Valdomiro Paraibano. After 75 played minutes Ponta da Praia FC got a freekick which was hit by Hermínio Quirino. 80 minutes into the game, Manoel Zanette cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Valdir Pérez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hermínio Gerber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Valdir Pérez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rui Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After 88 minutes, Válbson Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the União Verde FC and the Ponta da Praia FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th minute there was a penalty for Ponta da Praia FC. Wiliam Santos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Valdir Pérez. 9-0. Manoel Zanette struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Valdir Pérez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ponta da Praia FC. Carlos Meira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Valdir Pérez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valdir Pérez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. When the referee ended the match the Ponta da Praia FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
