The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Rafinha Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Pérez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes in the game Lenílson Penha did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Vinícius Lago. Valdir Pérez didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Club Athletico Paulistano's Fabinho dos Santos shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Fabinho dos Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Pérez having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, one of União Verde FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of União Verde FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Club Athletico Paulistano:s goal. The goalkeeper, Valdir Pérez, was totally fooled by Club Athletico Paulistano's Agnaldo Mattos, who 28 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Lenílson Penha hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute of the match Club Athletico Paulistano got a corner. União Verde FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Agnaldo Mattos ran over to the corner to take the kick. Club Athletico Paulistano's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Agnaldo Mattos in the 41st minute. The corner led Club Athletico Paulistano's Agnaldo Mattos to fire away a dangerous shot which Valdir Pérez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 44th minute, União Verde FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Roberto-Carlos Håland fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Valdir Pérez made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Fabinho dos Santos sent off a good shot on target. Vinícius Lago charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vinícius Lago the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabinho dos Santos was the one to do the kick off. After 53 minutes União Verde FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Agnaldo Mattos who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabinho dos Santos in the 55th minute of play forced União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, União Verde FC's Gilvan Pombal got a free kick in the 55th minute. Vinícius Lago kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Fabinho dos Santos took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdir Pérez. Valdir Pérez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 87 played minutes Club Athletico Paulistano got a freekick which was hit by Zé Paulo de Senna. Valdir Pérez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabinho dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Valdir Pérez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabinho dos Santos went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 12-0 was the resulting score. Club Athletico Paulistano walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
