Guilherme Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilmar Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Milosz Hejza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mané Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ademir Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Lara in the 11th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Gilmar Borges notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Joinville United - FSCMZ's Guilherme Catarinense. Guilherme Catarinense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 16 minutes into the match, Matungo Gaúcho's goal looked a bit too open when Mané Lara came free, but Ademir Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Mané Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Milosz Hejza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guilherme Catarinense having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Celedonio Florinio came free, but Guilherme Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Celedonio Florinio came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Matungo Gaúcho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celedonio Florinio couldn't finish the play. Matungo Gaúcho's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Mané Lara scored to the left of an out of position Ademir Baptista, making the score, 2-1. In the 44th match minute, Joinville United - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hilario Gurutz to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Joinville United - FSCMZ defense, Gilmar Borges kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guilherme Catarinense. The Joinville United - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guilherme Catarinense should have stopped the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Milosz Hejza made a kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Guilherme Catarinense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Celedonio Florinio. Ademir Baptista didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mané Lara went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score.
