Antônio Carlos Branco hit a great ball. The supporters of Clube Audax Metropolitano booed when Botinho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 30th minute Poul Stanković shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hílton Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dadá Falcão hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Claudinho Quadros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hílton Magalhães having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bjørn Ironside in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hílton Magalhães saved Botinho FC from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Poul Stanković in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hílton Magalhães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Carlos Branco in the 45th minute of play forced Clube Audax Metropolitano's goalkeeper Santo Lano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardinho Penha got free with Santo Lano in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bjørn Ironside was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Poul Stanković took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Hílton Magalhães to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet as Bjørn Ironside kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hílton Magalhães. That made the score 0-5 in the 71 minute of play. When Clube Audax Metropolitano's Poul Stanković in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 84thth minute of the game Bjørn Ironside who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Botinho FC's Hílton Magalhães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 85th minute Bjørn Ironside shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hílton Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clube Audax Metropolitano were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after Botinho FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Maicon Mattos took the corner. The corner led to Clube Audax Metropolitano's Poul Stanković getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Hílton Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Poul Stanković in the 93rd minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Botinho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Poul Stanković came free, but Hílton Magalhães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 97 played minutes Botinho FC got a freekick which was hit by Dadá Falcão. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Clube Audax Metropolitano had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
