In the 8th minute Antônio Carlos Bueno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hudson Arósio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Wincent Pawlik fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santo Amaro AC's protests and gave Wincent Pawlik a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th match minute, Santo Amaro AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wincent Pawlik to maneuver through the defense. Hudson Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Carlos Bueno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arlindo Guedes made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Eduard Polozov sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 15 minutes, Antônio Carlos Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AF CERRADO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antônio Carlos Bueno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Antônio Carlos Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Murilo Lucas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hudson Arósio was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Antônio Carlos Bueno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Hudson Arósio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. AF CERRADO's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dennis Contaldi in the 39th minute. Dennis Contaldi made a great header on AF CERRADO's corner, it was just that Santo Amaro AC's Hudson Arósio managed to reach the ball for a save. Antônio Carlos Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hudson Arósio having to interfere. With a little luck, AF CERRADO's Arlindo Guedes got control of the ball when Cipriano Hermes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Santo Amaro AC's Hudson Arósio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murilo Lucas in the 46th minute of play. The supporters of Santo Amaro AC booed when AF CERRADO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toninho Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Cipriano Hermes in the 51st minute of play forced AF CERRADO's goalkeeper Arlindo Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Antônio Carlos Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Antônio Carlos Bueno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hudson Arósio was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Antônio Carlos Bueno struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Hudson Arósio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Santo Amaro AC's Hudson Arósio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Santo Amaro AC from getting a goal against them. It was a well-played corner which Antônio Carlos Bueno managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 65thth minute of the game Antônio Carlos Bueno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santo Amaro AC's Hudson Arósio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santo Amaro AC's goalkeeper Hudson Arósio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sidnei de Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sidnei de Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 73 played minutes Santo Amaro AC got a freekick which was hit by Sidnei de Souza. Pedro Lopez might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hudson Arósio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedro Lopez ran back to his position shaking his head. Antônio Carlos Bueno's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Hudson Arósio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. AF CERRADO's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Antônio Carlos Bueno in the 79th minute. With his leg Hudson Arósio managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when AF CERRADO's Antônio Carlos Bueno fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Antônio Carlos Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hudson Arósio having to interfere. AF CERRADO's supporters rose to their feet, but Antônio Carlos Bueno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hudson Arósio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the final whistle sounded AF CERRADO left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Santo Amaro AC.
