Adam Curteanu's late challenge caught a Clube do Remo MZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adam Curteanu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Clube do Remo MZ booed when Atlético Capixaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Curteanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiaguinho Mandrak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murilo da Fonseca having to interfere. Murilo da Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiaguinho Mandrak in the 14th minute of play. Murilo da Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiaguinho Mandrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiaguinho Mandrak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murilo da Fonseca having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Clube do Remo MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Augusto Guimarães came free, but Alirio Oyuela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Murilo da Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiaguinho Mandrak, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Clube do Remo MZ's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Otto Fesik scored to the left of an out of position Alirio Oyuela, making the score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Didi Mello in the 32nd minute of play forced Atlético Capixaba's goalkeeper Murilo da Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leopoldo de Almeida hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. But to his dismay, Dagoberto Sandoval quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2.

52 minutes had been played when some careless play by Atlético Capixaba's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Didi Mello was slow to take the kick. During this time Clube do Remo MZ's players had a chance to rest. 56 minutes into the match, Clube do Remo MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Otto Fesik came free, but Alirio Oyuela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dagoberto Sandoval's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Murilo da Fonseca firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 68th minute Didi Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murilo da Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the game, Radowit Ciechocki cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Alirio Oyuela was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Atlético Capixaba made a substitution. Cristóvão Varela replaced Adam Curteanu. Kang Cheng Ao hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute Radowit Ciechocki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alirio Oyuela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Naldo Machado in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alirio Oyuela saved Clube do Remo MZ from getting behind. When the match was over Clube do Remo MZ could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Atlético Capixaba throughout the match.
