The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the match, Inter de São Paulo's goal looked a bit too open when Lukáš Modrić came free, but Kryspin Napierkowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute Gerson Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duarte de Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kryspin Napierkowski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wágner de Lara in the 23rd minute. PATO BRANCO FC's Oséas Recife got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 28th minute Gerson Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duarte de Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gerson Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duarte de Barros having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Inter de São Paulo's Gerson Coelho got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After 45 minutes of play, Inter de São Paulo's Gerson Coelho made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Duarte de Barros was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Laércio Loureiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gerson Coelho struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Duarte de Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inter de São Paulo. Kryspin Napierkowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lukáš Modrić in the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Marquinhos Botelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in PATO BRANCO FC's zone, Gerson Coelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duarte de Barros came out of the goal and Gerson Coelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. PATO BRANCO FC made a substitution. Mariano Admon replaced Oséas Recife. In the 75th minute, Marquinhos Botelho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Duarte de Barros was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Eulalio Peio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kryspin Napierkowski having to interfere. Kryspin Napierkowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lukáš Modrić in the 83rd minute of play. Pedro Donatello might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Duarte de Barros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedro Donatello ran back to his position shaking his head. Duarte de Barros made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Pedro Donatello sent off a good shot on target. Pedro Donatello in the 90thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Duarte de Barros, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Kryspin Napierkowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lukáš Modrić in the 93rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lukáš Modrić in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kryspin Napierkowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Inter de São Paulo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Inter de São Paulo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
