Juan Carlos Ramirez's late challenge caught a Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. But to his dismay, Dário Carneiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlinhos de Brito in the 28th minute of play forced Academia B.F.'s goalkeeper Johan Vollander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Primo Sans might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mané Viana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Primo Sans ran back to his position shaking his head. Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ's Mané Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Primo Sans in the 30th minute of play. When Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ's Chico de Brito in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Mané Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Primo Sans in the 43rd minute of play. 44 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wiliam Carioca was slow to take the kick. During this time Academia B.F.'s players had a chance to rest. Juan Carlos Ramirez kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The Academia B.F. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mattias Wennerberg was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes of play Academia B.F.'s Juan Carlos Ramirez was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Juan Carlos Ramirez hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. When Chico de Brito came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chico de Brito couldn't finish the play. Johan Vollander made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Mattias Wennerberg sent off a good shot on target. Chico de Brito succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-3 in the 58th playminute. Academia B.F.'s Johan Vollander proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Academia B.F. from getting a goal against them. Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ's Dário Carneiro got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Academia B.F.'s Michel Totti was substituted for Primo Sans. Academia B.F.'s Lauro Quirino was substituted for Gustavo Martins. In the 76th minute, Michel Totti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Totti came free, but Mané Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute Michel Totti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Academia B.F.'s Johan Vollander proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Academia B.F. from getting a goal against them. In the 91st minute, Adam Kopacz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Johan Vollander was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. In the 95th minute, Michel Totti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
