After 5 played minutes PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Denílson Abreu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frans Larsfelt in the 8th minute of play forced TAQUARI FC's goalkeeper Rodolfo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8thth minute of the game Frans Larsfelt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but TAQUARI FC's Rodolfo Salgado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frans Larsfelt in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rodolfo Salgado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by TAQUARI FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sandro Mandrak was slow to take the kick. During this time PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's players had a chance to rest. Rodolfo Salgado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bennvar Caddick in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute, Wilton Vale made a precise shot to the right of John Osomo. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Rodolfo Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Örjan Björkdahl in the 22nd minute of play. Rodolfo Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frans Larsfelt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the game, Wilton Vale was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rodolfo Salgado was a little too slow when Örjan Björkdahl got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 1-1. John Osomo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilton Vale in the 40th minute of the match. After having played for 41 minutes, Wilton Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. TAQUARI FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilton Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 45 minutes into the match, TAQUARI FC's Wilton Vale sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that John Osomo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Wilton Vale made the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Kléberson Guedes had to leave the field with a concussion. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Frans Larsfelt quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Joakim Felin, made in the 62nd minute of the game. Rodolfo Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bennvar Caddick in the 64th minute of the match. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Ademar Rodrigues was substituted for Bennvar Caddick. TAQUARI FC's Erasmo Gaspar was substituted for Ernani Souto. 74 minutes into the match, TAQUARI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Örjan Björkdahl came free, but Rodolfo Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, TAQUARI FC's Chupan Doar got a free kick in the 95th minute. 97 minutes into the match, Ademar Rodrigues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodolfo Salgado. TAQUARI FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ademar Rodrigues was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
