With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristiano Messi in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fran Guerola saved S O B E R A N O CIMZ from getting behind. The Corinthians fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when Corinthians's Cristiano Messi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 6 minutes into the game, Patrick Vaz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S O B E R A N O CIMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Corinthians the free kick. In the 6th minute of the match Jiang Yi Chong shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fran Guerola showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Corinthians's goalkeeper Jaime Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edu Trancoso. The audience was convinced that Cristiano Ronaldinho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jaime Almeida was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Fran Guerola stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristiano Messi's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Jaime Almeida made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Cristiano Ronaldinho sent off a good shot on target. Eliézer de Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Jaime Almeida made a huge save. Jaime Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jailson Barral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fran Guerola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Messi in the 25th minute of play. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Corinthians's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Patrick Vaz was slow to take the kick. During this time S O B E R A N O CIMZ's players had a chance to rest. Eliézer de Queirós hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Rubinho de Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute Cristiano Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fran Guerola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Corinthians were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristiano Messi made a kick off. Fran Guerola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Messi in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes into the game, Cristiano Messi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Fran Guerola was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fran Guerola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubinho de Lara in the 58th minute of the match. Jaime Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Buinton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute Cristiano Ronaldinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristiano Ronaldinho in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jaime Almeida prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 73 minutes into the match, Corinthians's Cristiano Messi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fran Guerola narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Igor Fujara was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leif-Eric St. Juste in the 84th minute of play forced Corinthians's goalkeeper Jaime Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute Eliézer de Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaime Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliézer de Queirós in the 87th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Fausto Buinton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jaime Almeida. Corinthians's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fausto Buinton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Jaime Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliézer de Queirós in the 93rd minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Corinthians walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
