In the 22nd minute Ronaldão Mazza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Netto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Álvaro de Mendonça was slow to take the kick. During this time 20 de Abril's players had a chance to rest. The corner led 20 de Abril's Álvaro de Mendonça to fire away a dangerous shot which Jacinto de Azevedo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After having played for 37 minutes, Guilherme Corrêa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 20 de Abril's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guilherme Corrêa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jacinto de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernandinho Pires in the 39th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernandinho Pires got free with Jacinto de Azevedo in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fernandinho Pires to make the kick off. When Fernandinho Pires came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the 20 de Abril fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernandinho Pires couldn't finish the play. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Robinho Freire sped through Milanis E.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jacinto de Azevedo. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Robinho Freire managed to get in a good position for a shot. 20 de Abril's supporters rose to their feet, but Robinho Freire was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacinto de Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 76 minutes, Robinho Freire made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Milanis E.C.'s Jacinto de Azevedo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 79 minutes into the match, Milanis E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Robinho Freire came free, but Jacinto de Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Robinho Freire notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Milanis E.C.'s Jacinto de Azevedo. Jacinto de Azevedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Milanis E.C. booed when 20 de Abril was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robinho Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the match, 20 de Abril's goalkeeper Mané Netto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Carlos da Cunha. Váldson Barral took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jacinto de Azevedo. Milanis E.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jacinto de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robinho Freire in the 90th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Robinho Freire had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacinto de Azevedo. Milanis E.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robinho Freire was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. 20 de Abril had played much better football throughout.
