Claudinho Urbano charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Claudinho Urbano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Desportivo Lucca MZ getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Claudinho Urbano hit a great ball. Aki Guardo hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Zico Maravilha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emílio Fernandes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Desportivo Lucca MZ's Leonel Sousa got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Emílio Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremias Tinoco in the 34th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Jeremias Tinoco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Misericordia EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeremias Tinoco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emílio Fernandes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 42 minutes into the match, Jeremias Tinoco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emílio Fernandes. Desportivo Lucca MZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeremias Tinoco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aki Guardo in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Léo Leão saved Misericordia EC from getting behind. With an all-out effort, Desportivo Lucca MZ's Léo Leão threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aki Guardo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jeremias Tinoco was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Pedro Luís Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Misericordia EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Luís Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 71st minute, Jeremias Tinoco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Misericordia EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Emílio Fernandes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Luís Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. If Faustão Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeremias Tinoco in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emílio Fernandes saved Desportivo Lucca MZ from getting behind. In the 89thth minute of the game Aníbal Goiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Desportivo Lucca MZ's Emílio Fernandes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 90th minute, Jeremias Tinoco reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Emílio Fernandes. The goal made the score 1-4. Léo Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeferson Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Desportivo Lucca MZ fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Misericordia EC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
