Jacinto Quirino might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Intxixu Porregimon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacinto Quirino ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, C.A Gryffindor's Tomé de Alcântara got a free kick in the 6th minute. 10 minutes into the match, C.A Gryffindor's Jacinto Quirino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Intxixu Porregimon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. C.A Gryffindor's Chicão de Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel de Lara in the 15th minute of play. The supporters of Mexilhão F. C. booed when C.A Gryffindor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Barrera didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 18 played minutes, Mexilhão F. C.'s Ronaldinho Romero shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Chicão de Azevedo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexilhão F. C. reached it. After 22 minutes of play, Mexilhão F. C.'s Germano Pernambucano made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chicão de Azevedo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jacinto Quirinos short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Intxixu Porregimon to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Armando Barrera during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Jacinto Quirino took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Intxixu Porregimon to make any attempt to save it. Jacinto Quirino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Intxixu Porregimon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Karl-Erik Magnusson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anaia Barba made a kick off. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of Mexilhão F. C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of C.A Gryffindor:s goal. Mexilhão F. C.:s Intxixu Porregimon showed great skill when he stopped Tomé de Alcântara:s penalty. Intxixu Porregimon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Jacinto Quirino took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Intxixu Porregimon. Intxixu Porregimon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Intxixu Porregimon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Quirino in the 67th minute of play. Intxixu Porregimon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacinto Quirino's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. C.A Gryffindor made a substitution. Guilherme Mazer replaced Jacinto Quirino. After a defensive mix-up in Mexilhão F. C.'s zone, Guilherme Mazer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Intxixu Porregimon came out of the goal and Guilherme Mazer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chicão de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anaia Barba in the 88th minute of play. Intxixu Porregimon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guilherme Mazer in the 92nd minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, C.A Gryffindor could leave the field as winners, despite Mexilhão F. C. having more of the ball for most of the match.
