Silvano Chepe hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. 14 minutes into the match, Queluzito's goal looked a bit too open when José Furlan came free, but Pedro Paulo Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Paulo Bueno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Furlan, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dagoberto Sabóia got free with Petre Porumboiu in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Ypiranga FC's Silvano Chepe got a free kick in the 35th minute. 37 minutes in the game Dagoberto Sabóia after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Petre Porumboiu. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Romeu Guedes made a kick off. With a little luck, Queluzito's Pedro Paulo Bueno got control of the ball when Gică Leucuța tried to sneak it across the goal line. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Queluzito's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Arlindo Meireles was slow to take the kick. During this time Ypiranga FC's players had a chance to rest. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clóvis Quirino couldn't finish the play. If Manuel de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petre Porumboiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clóvis Quirino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Ypiranga FC's Pedro Paulo Bueno threw himself towards the right post 87 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gică Leucuța, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 89 minutes into the match, Ypiranga FC's goal looked a bit too open when Clóvis Quirino came free, but Petre Porumboiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clóvis Quirino in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petre Porumboiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ypiranga FC's Petre Porumboiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Haşim Sevgen in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ypiranga FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
