In the 18th minute Giuseppe Marques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Augusto Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cipriano Abreu came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Várzea F.C.'s Rogério Saldanha. But to his dismay, Rogério Saldanha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Carioca 【CIMZ】 got a freekick which was hit by Casper Granqvist. The Várzea F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Augusto Quintal should have stopped the shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Carioca 【CIMZ】's Cipriano Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogério Saldanha in the 53rd minute of play. He was immediately shown a red card. Várzea F.C.'s Luiz Eduardo Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Várzea F.C. played a much better game than A. A. Carioca 【CIMZ】 and deserved their victory. The A. A. Carioca 【CIMZ】 players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
