After a rather tough play, Júbilo Iwata's Chico Mendonça got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 8th match minute, Júbilo Iwata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juvenal Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. 9 minutes into the match, Júbilo Iwata's goal looked a bit too open when Ramón Furtado came free, but Giovanni Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Juvenal Mendonça was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Júbilo Iwata's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flamengo FSCMZ the free kick. The supporters of Flamengo FSCMZ booed when Júbilo Iwata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juvenal Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giovanni Pena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramón Furtado in the 13th minute of play. Ramón Furtado scored 0-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Giovanni Pena, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Flamengo FSCMZ's Dmytro Novak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Roberto Velasco in the 20th minute of play. If Ramón Furtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chico Mendonça got his second yellow card in the match during the 28th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The Flamengo FSCMZ fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when Flamengo FSCMZ's Ramón Furtado looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Giovanni Pena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filipe Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Júbilo Iwata's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcus de Godoi was slow to take the kick. During this time Flamengo FSCMZ's players had a chance to rest. After a defensive mix-up in Júbilo Iwata's zone, Ramón Furtado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovanni Pena came out of the goal and Ramón Furtado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 41 minutes into the match, Ramón Furtado notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Júbilo Iwata's Giovanni Pena. Giovanni Pena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ramón Furtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Giovanni Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 47 minutes, Ramón Furtado made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Júbilo Iwata's Giovanni Pena tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcel Lira to make the kick off. Giovanni Pena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ramón Furtado in the 52nd minute. When Stefan Banaszak came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Flamengo FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stefan Banaszak couldn't finish the play. After 55 played minutes Júbilo Iwata got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Bittencourt. Giovanni Pena made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Stefan Banaszak sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Júbilo Iwata's Danilo Bittencourt got a free kick in the 59th minute. Stefan Banaszak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Pena having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Júbilo Iwata's goalkeeper Giovanni Pena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stefan Banaszak. In the 65th minute, Danilo Bittencourt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giovanni Pena made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Stefan Banaszak sent off a good shot on target. Júbilo Iwata made a substitution. Donato Vargas replaced Celso Lopes. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Stefan Banaszak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flamengo FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefan Banaszak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giovanni Pena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Flamengo FSCMZ's Dmytro Novak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel Lira in the 84th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Flamengo FSCMZ had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
