The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Giuseppe Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Santana in the 3rd minute of play. Clóvis Alvarenga ran back to his position shaking his head. Betinho Machado made in the 23rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Geovani Barreto however managed to control. Ronaldo Giovanelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Douglas Eger in the 24th minute of the match. In the 27th minute César Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Giovanelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Moreto F.C. - Capivari's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Santana came free, but Giuseppe Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Galo do Japi's Ronaldo Giovanelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovani Barreto in the 32nd minute of play. After 32 minutes of play, Moreto F.C. - Capivari's Geovani Barreto made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ronaldo Giovanelli was left in no man's land by his defense there! Giuseppe Leite came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana. But to his dismay, Carlos Santana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 39th minute, Carlos Santana made a precise shot to the right of Giuseppe Leite. Moreto F.C. - Capivari's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. 42 minutes into the match, Carlos Santana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Giuseppe Leite. Moreto F.C. - Capivari's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Santana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. In the 45th match minute, Moreto F.C. - Capivari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Betinho Machado to maneuver through the defense. Giuseppe Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Clóvis Alvarenga to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Moreto F.C. - Capivari's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Santana came free, but Giuseppe Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Giuseppe Leite made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Paulo Renato Saraiva sent off a good shot on target. 75 minutes into the match, Galo do Japi's goal looked a bit too open when Agnaldo Marinho came free, but Ronaldo Giovanelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Galo do Japi's attentive Belmiro Caca-Rato managed to snatch the ball when Glauco de Mendonça made a throw-in in the 91st minute of the game. 92 minutes into the game, Carlos Santana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-6. Giuseppe Leite was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Although Moreto F.C. - Capivari had been in control for most of the match, Galo do Japi still came away with the win.
