But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerson da Cunha couldn't finish the play. 任浩默 took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alun Harmon. Voyager Soccer Team's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 20th minute of the match, Jefferson do Valle got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jorginho Vaz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Voyager Soccer Team's Jefferson do Valle came free and shot a quick shot against goal 20 minutes in the game, fortunately Jorginho Vaz had problems saving as it came toward the left post. 24 minutes into the match, Portuguesa's goal looked a bit too open when Dênis Marques came free, but Jorginho Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, 任浩默 put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Alun Harmon. With a little luck, Portuguesa's Jorginho Vaz got control of the ball when Jefferson do Valle tried to sneak it across the goal line. Portuguesa's Jorginho Vaz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Portuguesa from getting a goal against them. 32 minutes into the match, 任浩默 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alun Harmon. Voyager Soccer Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 任浩默 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. In the 35th match minute, Portuguesa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Holger Zachrisson to maneuver through the defense. Jorginho Vaz came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Voyager Soccer Team's Gerson da Cunha. But to his dismay, Gerson da Cunha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Jorginho Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dênis Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Dênis Marques made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 40thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Jorginho Vaz would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. 任浩默 scored 2-5 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alun Harmon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Portuguesa's Jorginho Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldão Silveira in the 47th minute of play. After 49 minutes Portuguesa's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cezary Ankiewicz who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Cezary Ankiewicz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jorginho Vaz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The Voyager Soccer Team players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Portuguesa were winning 2-5.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dênis Marques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldão Silveira in the 54th minute of play forced Portuguesa's goalkeeper Jorginho Vaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Voyager Soccer Team booed when Portuguesa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yuri de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alun Harmon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Portuguesa's goal looked a bit too open when Gerson da Cunha came free, but Jorginho Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alun Harmon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerson da Cunha in the 77th minute of play forced Portuguesa's goalkeeper Jorginho Vaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alun Harmon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from 任浩默 went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-8 was the resulting score. 任浩默 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Portuguesa's Miguel de Sena was substituted for Holger Zachrisson. Jorginho Vaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerson da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 95 minutes into the match, Portuguesa's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldão Silveira came free, but Jorginho Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With 97 minutes on the clock, Alfred Owsiak commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The Portuguesa supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Portuguesa would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
