XV de Piracicaba's defense didn't have a chance, in the 7th minute, when Jacobo Casado scored to the left of an out of position Fonso Zotillo, making the score, 1-0. Dinei Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remo Goiano in the 10th minute of the match. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind SeleSantos FC's goalkeeper Dinei Pinheiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to SeleSantos FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Niilo Mikkola hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the match, SeleSantos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gonzalo Jurdan came free, but Dinei Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fonso Zotillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leif Törnqvist in the 19th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Remo Goiano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dinei Pinheiro was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. After taking down the ball on XV de Piracicaba's corner Wen Yong Sha fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dinei Pinheiro quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of SeleSantos FC booed when XV de Piracicaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eurico Novaes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 44 played minutes XV de Piracicaba got a freekick which was hit by Wen Yong Sha. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind XV de Piracicaba's goalkeeper Fonso Zotillo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jacobo Casado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yuri Tasso hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leif Törnqvist was the one to do the kick off.
