The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nilson Fraser showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kris Pearse in the 5th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Kris Pearse's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nilson Fraser was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. After 6 minutes Ayla FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ned Mills who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Boroondara Milan's Ned Mills to fire away a dangerous shot which Nilson Fraser despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Bath Boyce had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silvério Pinhal. Bath Boyce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brayden Duggan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bath Boyce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brayden Duggan in the 25th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Boroondara Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Rob Porteus came free, but Bath Boyce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nilson Fraser showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paco Everett, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvério Pinhal in the 30th minute of play forced Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Bath Boyce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Kris Pearse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilson Fraser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Kris Pearse made a precise shot to the right of Nilson Fraser. Ayla FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Boroondara Milan's Bath Boyce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvério Pinhal in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th match minute, Boroondara Milan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Drake Sobczak to maneuver through the defense.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silvério Pinhal made a kick off. Bath Boyce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rob Porteus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nilson Fraser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris Pearse in the 54th minute of play. Eddie Pegrum took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bath Boyce. Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kris Pearse in the 61st minute of play forced Ayla FC's goalkeeper Nilson Fraser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boroondara Milan were awarded a corner in the 62th minute after Ayla FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ned Mills took the corner. After taking down the ball on Boroondara Milan's corner Ned Mills fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nilson Fraser quite easily take care of the ball. Kris Pearse kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Bath Boyce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rob Porteus in the 69th minute of play. In the 72nd minute Kris Pearse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilson Fraser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bath Boyce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvério Pinhal, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 81st minute, Kris Pearse fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Rob Porteus blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bath Boyce having to make a save. Boroondara Milan's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
