Lei Wei Lin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herbert Czempa, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. When Denny Commons fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Abbotsford FC's protests and gave Denny Commons a yellow card for diving instead. After 48 played minutes Abbotsford FC got a freekick which was hit by Denny Commons. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Denny Commons made a kick off. In the 55th minute, Sever Corbu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Abbotsford FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Lei Wei Lin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Buck Smalley in the 61st minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Abbotsford FC's goal looked a bit too open when Buck Smalley came free, but Lei Wei Lin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
