The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fedele Cimino kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Eugenio Santoro made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Biagio Scoca sent off a good shot on target. Eugenio Santoro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Biagio Di Marco, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pastor Ihazintu in the 21st minute of play forced Foot Ball Club di Roma's goalkeeper Alvaro Pardini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Biagio Di Marco could shoot a difficult shot in the 47th minute, which Eugenio Santoro however easily saved by the left post.

The wind increased when Pastor Ihazintu made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alf Runeberg during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 57 played minutes Urbs LC got a freekick which was hit by Alf Runeberg. 60 minutes into the match, Urbs LC's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Ceresoli came free, but Eugenio Santoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th match minute, Foot Ball Club di Roma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bryan Cristante to maneuver through the defense. Alvaro Pardini made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Cezary Tusk sent off a good shot on target. In the 69th minute Biagio Di Marco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Santoro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Urbs LC booed when Foot Ball Club di Roma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Ceresoli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Urbs LC made a substitution. Anselmo Papetti replaced Bruno Di Iulio. In the 71st match minute, Foot Ball Club di Roma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Ceresoli to maneuver through the defense. Alvaro Pardini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pastor Ihazintu in the 83rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pastor Ihazintu got free with Alvaro Pardini in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 92nd minute of the match, Boško Balaban tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alvaro Pardini saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The Urbs LC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Urbs LC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
