The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Federico Frabetti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Radowit Ptaszek was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. The corner ended in Dario Marziali almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cesate's Radowit Ptaszek did a great save. Felice Frezza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cacciola's Eugenio Bartolomucci proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Cacciola from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angelo Ferraris got free with Eugenio Bartolomucci in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Federico Frabetti in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Radowit Ptaszek saved Cesate from getting behind. Angelo Ferraris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Cesate booed when Cacciola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Toppi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Cacciola's Federico Frabetti sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Radowit Ptaszek narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felice Frezza in the 33rd minute of play forced Cacciola's goalkeeper Eugenio Bartolomucci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Angelo Ferraris could shoot a difficult shot in the 35th minute, which Eugenio Bartolomucci however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, Cacciola's Eugenio Bartolomucci got control of the ball when Felice Frezza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Armando Toppi struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Radowit Ptaszek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cacciola. Federico Frabetti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Angelo Ferraris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Angelo Vettori made a kick off. Eugenio Bartolomucci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Attilio Mazzone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Angelo Ferraris in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eugenio Bartolomucci saved Cacciola from getting behind. In the 79th match minute, Cacciola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Renato Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. Armando Toppi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angelo Vettori received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Eugenio Bartolomucci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute Kay Stormlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Bartolomucci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Comunardo Puja cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Eugenio Bartolomucci was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eugenio Bartolomucci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Comunardo Puja in the 95th minute of play. Cesate's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Angelo Vettori in the 96th minute. Franco Di Giuseppe thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Eugenio Bartolomucci, a very annoying self made goal in the 97th minute which led to 2-2. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
