The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Villadeatese FC's Dino Roberto got control of the ball when Concetto De Nardis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Villadeatese FC's Dino Roberto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Villadeatese FC from getting a goal against them. Adalberto Figueiredo struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Dino Roberto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting Club Sicilia. 15 minutes into the game, Villadeatese FC's Zabal Villanueva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alvaro Sanna made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Armando Dorigatti fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Villadeatese FC's protests and gave Armando Dorigatti a yellow card for diving instead. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Wit Lampa took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Dino Roberto to make any attempt to save it. Dino Roberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Figueiredo in the 33rd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Adalberto Figueiredo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carmine Di Piazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 42nd minute Zabal Villanueva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Sanna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvaro Sanna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Cameli in the 45th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Armando Dorigatti made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match, Dino Gazza got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alvaro Sanna was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 54 minutes into the match, Sporting Club Sicilia's goalkeeper Alvaro Sanna had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zabal Villanueva. Dino Roberto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wit Lampa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th match minute, Sporting Club Sicilia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maxim Biller to maneuver through the defense. Dino Roberto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Figueiredo in the 60th minute of the match. When Concetto De Nardis came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Sporting Club Sicilia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Concetto De Nardis couldn't finish the play. If Zabal Villanueva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Villadeatese FC's Dino Roberto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guaberto Cristos in the 67th minute of play. Amerigo Pedroni kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Villadeatese FC's Ernesto Scevola was substituted for Dino Gazza. Amerigo Pedroni hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute, Concetto De Nardis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting Club Sicilia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Alvaro Sanna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corrado Apolloni in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zabal Villanueva in the 83rd minute of play forced Sporting Club Sicilia's goalkeeper Alvaro Sanna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Sporting Club Sicilia getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Alberto Nazzaro hit a great ball. Sporting Club Sicilia's Damiano Cino was substituted for Alberto Nazzaro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Concetto Rucci in the 93rd minute of play forced Villadeatese FC's goalkeeper Dino Roberto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Ernesto Scevola took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Alvaro Sanna to make any attempt to save it. Sporting Club Sicilia were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
