Gísli Langnickel might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Patrice Marsonet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gísli Langnickel ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 10th minute, Ermanno Cavallaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gísli Langnickel in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Patrice Marsonet, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Gísli Langnickels short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Patrice Marsonet to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Aversa getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Aang Pitono hit a great ball. Gísli Langnickel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Patrice Marsonet having to make a save. In the 24th minute of the match US Albenga got a corner. Aversa's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Beniamin Bara ran over to the corner to take the kick. US Albenga's Beniamin Bara was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Emory Øien in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ermanno Cavallaro hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After 28 played minutes US Albenga got a freekick which was hit by Ermanno Cavallaro. With a little luck, US Albenga's Patrice Marsonet got control of the ball when Gísli Langnickel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Emory Øien made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniele Panella in the 34th minute of play. Gísli Langnickel's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Patrice Marsonet skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

US Albenga's Anselmo Lucidi was substituted for Daniele Panella. The wind increased when Gísli Langnickel made the kick off in the second half. In the 56thth minute of the game Gísli Langnickel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but US Albenga's Patrice Marsonet was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 59 minutes into the match, US Albenga's goal looked a bit too open when Gísli Langnickel came free, but Patrice Marsonet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patrice Marsonet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Fulgenzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Anselmo Fulgenzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Patrice Marsonet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, US Albenga's Alvaro Nobile sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emory Øien narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Aversa's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Beniamin Bara was slow to take the kick. During this time US Albenga's players had a chance to rest. After 91 minutes, Anselmo Fulgenzi made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. US Albenga's Patrice Marsonet tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 95 minutes into the game, Ermanno Cavallaro threw the ball into play from the sideline. Aversa's Federico Apolloni quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Aversa had played much better football throughout.
