Gísli Langnickel might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iker Casillas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gísli Langnickel ran back to his position shaking his head. Iker Casillas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavio Di Giulio in the 17th minute of the match. Gísli Langnickel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iker Casillas having to make a save. In the 28th minute Fabrizio Canzano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emory Øien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gísli Langnickel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With his leg Iker Casillas managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Aversa's Gísli Langnickel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Aversa's Emory Øien played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rab Uba in the 38th minute of play. Philippe Albert hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Villa Gordiani's Fabrizio Canzano got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Philippe Albert got a throw-in 46 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Franco Cacciatore.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lia Marquez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aversa made a substitution. Ferdinando Cesarini replaced Aang Pitono. Aversa's Federico Apolloni was substituted for Flavio Di Giulio. 68 minutes into the game, Franco Cacciatore threw the ball into play from the sideline. Aversa's Lotan Frøne quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 73 minutes into the match, Villa Gordiani's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Fulgenzi came free, but Iker Casillas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdinando Cesarini in the 94th minute of play forced Villa Gordiani's goalkeeper Iker Casillas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aversa walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
