Iker Casillas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Osvaldo Potente in the 4th minute. The supporters of A.c Tre dei Frati booed when Villa Gordiani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lia Marquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Villa Gordiani's Arrigo Marrone sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pico Bădila narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 16th minute, Osvaldo Potente hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute, A.c Tre dei Frati's Afonsinho Magalhães seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Afonsinho Magalhães the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of A.c Tre dei Frati protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Afonsinho Magalhães had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for A.c Tre dei Frati! A.c Tre dei Frati:s Pico Bădila showed great skill when he stopped Rab Uba:s penalty. 25 minutes into the match, Villa Gordiani's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Strazzabosco came free, but Iker Casillas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rab Uba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Pico Bădila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Osvaldo Potente's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iker Casillas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th match minute, Villa Gordiani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Esposito to maneuver through the defense. Florian Addario was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 35th minute. A.c Tre dei Frati's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Osvaldo Potente took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iker Casillas. Iker Casillas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Osvaldo Potente recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 45 minutes, Osvaldo Potente managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.c Tre dei Frati's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osvaldo Potente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A.c Tre dei Frati's Gust Amaro was substituted for Florian Addario. The wind increased when Osvaldo Potente made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Osvaldo Potente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Villa Gordiani getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Philippe Albert hit a great ball. Iker Casillas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Potente in the 61st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Villa Gordiani's zone, Osvaldo Potente stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iker Casillas came out of the goal and Osvaldo Potente tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A.c Tre dei Frati's Federico Di Muzio was substituted for Dave Strazzabosco. With his leg Pico Bădila managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Villa Gordiani's Arrigo Marrone fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 77 played minutes Villa Gordiani got a freekick which was hit by Philippe Albert. Fabrizio Canzano hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute of the match Federico Di Muzio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iker Casillas skillfully saved the ball. Osvaldo Potente might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iker Casillas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Osvaldo Potente ran back to his position shaking his head. Villa Gordiani's Iker Casillas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldo Potente in the 85th minute of play. In the 87th minute Lia Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pico Bădila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osvaldo Potente in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iker Casillas saved Villa Gordiani from getting behind. 91 minutes into the match, A.c Tre dei Frati's goalkeeper Pico Bădila had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arrigo Marrone. Pico Bădila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rab Uba in the 92nd minute of play. When Federico Di Muzio came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the A.c Tre dei Frati fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Federico Di Muzio couldn't finish the play. Villa Gordiani made a substitution. Ove Bergman replaced Lia Marquez. Villa Gordiani made a substitution. Natã de Salles replaced Arrigo Marrone. 97 minutes into the match, Villa Gordiani's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Potente came free, but Iker Casillas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The A.c Tre dei Frati players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
