In the 6th minute Edwin Godholm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Marchesani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sconvols United's Daniz Tioe was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lev Yashin in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Longobarda's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Giannis Chatziioannou was slow to take the kick. During this time Sconvols United's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Sconvols United's Giannis Chatziioannou to fire away a dangerous shot which Lev Yashin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido D'Angelo in the 11th minute of play forced Longobarda's goalkeeper Lev Yashin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ryo Ishizaki hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Sconvols United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Giannis Chatziioannou in the 32nd minute. Lev Yashin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Giannis Chatziioannou in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute of the match Armin Iacovone sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alvaro Marchesani skillfully saved the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Giannis Chatziioannou was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Florian Cocca got free with Alvaro Marchesani in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Longobarda's Lev Yashin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giannis Chatziioannou in the 55th minute of play. Alvaro Marchesani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edwin Godholm, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Sconvols United's Giannis Chatziioannou got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alvaro Marchesani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edwin Godholm in the 78th minute of play. With a little luck, Sconvols United's Alvaro Marchesani got control of the ball when Florian Cocca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Longobarda made a substitution. Adriano Colantoni replaced Franco Sciamanna. If Edwin Godholm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Longobarda players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Sconvols United from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
