Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Stintino FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cristiano Paolucci was slow to take the kick. During this time A.S. Udinese's players had a chance to rest. The corner led A.S. Udinese's Cristiano Paolucci to fire away a dangerous shot which Antonello Ranieri despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Tom Pervik was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A.S. Udinese's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stintino FC the free kick. The supporters of Stintino FC booed when A.S. Udinese was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tom Pervik didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili got control of the ball when Attilio Losito tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 32 played minutes A.S. Udinese got a freekick which was hit by Dino Pozzoli. In the 33rd minute, Alexander Damiani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alvaro Rotili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Iezzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 38 minutes of play, A.S. Udinese's Alessio Zoccali made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Antonello Ranieri was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alessio Zoccali struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Antonello Ranieri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.S. Udinese.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alessio Zoccali stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Stintino FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Iezzi to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Stintino FC's Antonello Ranieri got control of the ball when Alessio Zoccali tried to sneak it across the goal line. Angelo Bertoni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute Alberto Iezzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Rotili saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvaro Rotili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arrigo Iannucci, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. A.S. Udinese made a substitution. Augusto Clemente replaced Cristiano Paolucci. After a rather tough play, A.S. Udinese's Dino Pozzoli got a free kick in the 75th minute. A.S. Udinese's Ercole Fiorentino got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alvaro Rotili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Iezzi in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Stintino FC's goalkeeper Antonello Ranieri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Ercole Fiorentino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antonello Ranieri was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Alvaro Rotili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Iezzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
