Palestra14's Frits Heinel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Iezzi in the 5th minute of play. In the 8th match minute, Palestra14 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cain Vieri to maneuver through the defense. When Angelo Bertoni came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Stintino FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angelo Bertoni couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Palestra14's Gianluigi Lentini got a free kick in the 11th minute. If Arrigo Iannucci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Iezzi in the 15th minute of play forced Palestra14's goalkeeper Frits Heinel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on Palestra14's corner Gianluigi Lentini fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Antonello Ranieri quite easily take care of the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Antonello Ranieri successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Frits Heinel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arrigo Iannucci in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of Stintino FC booed when Palestra14 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Fioriti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stintino FC's Antonello Ranieri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Stintino FC from getting a goal against them. Alberto Iezzi scored 0-2 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Frits Heinel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cain Vieri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Arrigo Iannucci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frits Heinel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Attilio Losito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Frits Heinel made a huge save. Frits Heinel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arrigo Iannucci, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Angelo Bertoni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Frits Heinel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Alberto Iezzi came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Stintino FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Iezzi couldn't finish the play. Antonello Ranieri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cain Vieri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 86 minutes of play, Palestra14's Cain Vieri made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Antonello Ranieri was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Palestra14's zone, Arrigo Iannucci stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frits Heinel came out of the goal and Arrigo Iannucci tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute of the match, Alberto Iezzi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Frits Heinel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Palestra14 booed when Stintino FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Iezzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antonello Ranieri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Fioriti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stintino FC played a much better game than Palestra14 and deserved their victory. The Palestra14 players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
