The throw-in from Fan Liang Chong in the 16th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by A.S. Udinese's Bruno Maranzano. In the 18th match minute, A.S. Udinese was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olivér Bierhoff to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the game, San Mauro A Mare FC's Levent Hicran nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alvaro Rotili made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. But to his dismay, Levent Hicran quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The throw-in from Bruno Maranzano in the 39th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by San Mauro A Mare FC's Fabinho Bastos. Levent Hicran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save A.S. Udinese from getting a goal against them. Alvaro Rotili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Levent Hicran in the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The San Mauro A Mare FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samir Afacan should have stopped the shot.
