The ball went over the crossbar instead. 7 minutes into the match, Olov Holmberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristoforo Morini. Rosenborg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olov Holmberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Rosenborg's zone, Olov Holmberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristoforo Morini came out of the goal and Olov Holmberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olov Holmberg in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristoforo Morini saved Rosenborg from getting behind. Olov Holmberg's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cristoforo Morini firmly grabbed it by the left post. Paşa Palla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristoforo Morini having to interfere. Elia Magliocco hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Aristides Nel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cristoforo Morini having to make a save. When L.R. Vicenza 1902's Olov Holmberg in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rosenborg's goalie prevented a goal. Cristoforo Morini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olov Holmberg made a kick off. Marcos Carioca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rosenborg made a substitution. Luciano Lluques replaced Marcos Carioca. In the 58th minute, Nunez Freijo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th match minute, L.R. Vicenza 1902 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paşa Palla to maneuver through the defense. Rosenborg's Fortunato Zola was substituted for Biagio Stellato. Cristoforo Morini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olov Holmberg in the 63rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, L.R.
