In the 37th minute Loco Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Silvestri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Silvestri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egil Sjögren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Silvestri didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Loco Palermo went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 47th minute Loco Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Silvestri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Montesacro FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Loco Palermo to strike the kick off in the second half. Giacomo Casanova made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vygandas Jančiauskas in the 52nd minute of play. In the 62nd minute Loco Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Silvestri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giacomo Casanova showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Bevilacqua, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Giacomo Casanova came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by SPALLETTE RETURNS's Vygandas Jančiauskas. But to his dismay, Vygandas Jančiauskas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. SPALLETTE RETURNS made a substitution. Alessio Milanese replaced Fortunato Santone. Marco Silvestri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loco Palermo in the 85th minute of play. SPALLETTE RETURNS's Marco Silvestri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loco Palermo in the 85th minute of play. Giacomo Casanova showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Bevilacqua in the 89th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Georg Skoglund in the 90th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by SPALLETTE RETURNS's Luca Pellegrini. Loco Palermo might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marco Silvestri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Loco Palermo ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Montesacro FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
